McGonigal August 29th, 30th upper Middle Fork

At the end of August, my buddies Dennis and Alyssa were taking their family down the upper Middle Fork. They had a boatman cancel at the last minute and I was able to jump on for two days to help them get to Indian Creek where I flew out when their gear was flown in. A couple of these guys had never run a boat before and received "on the job training" and did great.

For those of you on the trip I will put up some of my info. These are fairly low res versions for the net. If you want bigger ones I can do that.

This is for my frame shop and gallery.

I really had a great time playing with you guys and wish I could have continued on. Maybe next year.

This is day one. Lunch at Gardells Hole above Sulphur slide.

Vvvvvvvelvet. Always interesting, but mostly bark and no bite at this flow. This is the only place on the Middle Fork that I have come out of my raft, but it was at higher flows. Good runs by all. Great faces too.

Day Two
- Goofing on down to Powerhouse.

Powerhouse.

I was quite sad to leave McGonigal Family and Friends and taking off in the plane in a rainstorm, quite frankly, scared the piss out of me.

But the weather cleared off and I had a beauty flight into Stanley. This first shot is of Lake Creek rapid right above Pistol Creek.
